The Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award is a big thing at 457 squadron and we have been lucky enough to have some cadets complete their Gold Awards, no small undertaking which automatically gets them invited up to Buckingham Palace to be presented with their award. Not only is it a great personal achievement and a lot of fun, the skills learnt and required by the DofE award are highly recognised and sought after by employers and universities.
All cadets start at Bronze level, those who choose progress to Silver and eventually Gold. With several members of staff very much into hiking and camping, lots of support and training is available at the squadron to get cadets through the various levels including training and practice days.
