Air Cadets – Your local Farnborough Youth Club

One of the comments I hear on local community pages is that there are no local youth clubs in Farnborough. That simply isn’t true because Farnborough has an Air Cadet Squadron. The Air Cadet squadron in Farnborough has been around for decades and continues as a youth club for those aged 12 years up.

The RAF Air Cadets is a military themed youth club sponsored by the RAF. As a youth club it offers a wide range of activities including sports, fun evenings and expedition training. Because we are a youth club the environment is both relaxed and fun. As a military themed youth club, we are also able to offer activities most youth clubs cannot. These include target shooting, flying and military style camps on RAF stations. Because of our connections to the RAF we have been able to send cadets to the RAF school of parachuting, to fly in military aircraft and visit the Navy’s new Super carrier.

More than a Youth Club

At Farnborough air cadets we aren’t just somewhere to hang out for a couple of hour twice a week. Whilst we are all about fun, we are also about developing youths into better young adults. Through fun yet challenging activities we give young people the chance to develop the confidence and skills that will set them up for life. Teamwork, a sense of pride, the desire to push themselves and excel and exposure to role models who are several years ahead on the learning curve.

Some cadets choose to simply come down and have fun, others aim to expand and grow. We can cater for everybody.
